Thrive in extreme heat, tolerate low water, and clay soils. They bloom from early spring into late fall. There are many colors to choose from: purple, white, yellow, pink, and red. This plant has large spreading varieties around 6 feet wide, but can be pruned smaller. However, there are dwarf varieties we carry that grow just under 2 feet tall and wide, better for tight areas.

We recommend gaura because it is a durable full sun plant with light and wispy flowers. This can help break up garden textures by adding a flower that sways in the wind. Gaura is either a white or pink flower, blooms spring through fall, and is low water use once established.

This perennial comes in many colors: red, orange, yellow, peach, white, and purple. Daylilies bloom late spring through fall with an abundance of large trumpet-shaped flowers. Foliage is grass-like and goes dormant for the winter. This plant grows best with at least 6 hours of sun. 

There are so many different species of Salvia, it is hard to choose the best! Salvia also go by the common name Sage. All of the Salvias we carry are hardy and thrive in the heat of summer. Salvia greggii has small leaves with plenty of tiny flowers that are red, white, or pink. Salvia ‘Mystic Spires’ grows about 3 feet tall with long royal blue flower spikes, almost year round!

Agapanthus has many different varieties with varying heights and colors. Most people plant the sky blue color, but we also carry dark blue, white, and purple. Check out Agapanthus ‘Storm Cloud’ for an intriguing dark flower. This perennial is evergreen and grows in sun to part shade.
